Class I Water Treatment

This five-day course is designed to assist the operator with the operation and maintenance of Class I water treatment system. The Class I course is designed to ensure that the student is knowledgeable in the following areas of Water and Water Treatment: Micro-Biological Characteristics of Water, Physical and Chemical Characteristics of Water, Coagulation and Flocculation, Jar Tests, Sedimentation, Water Filtration, Iron and Manganese Control, Chlorination, Sampling, Records, Safety, Security.

This course is designed to assist Water Plant Operator with the operation and maintenance of Class I water treatment systems. It may also be useful to help prepare for writing the Class I Water Treatment Systems Certification Exam (a mark of 70% must be achieved) the afternoon of July 12, 2024. It is a level I course designed for operators employed in municipalities with a Class I water plant.
