This five-day course is designed to assist the operator with the operation and maintenance of Small system water treatment system. The Small Systems course is designed to ensure that the student is knowledgeable in the following areas of Water and Water Treatment: Sources of Water, Characteristics of Water, Purpose of Chlorine, How Chlorine Works, How to Test the Chlorine Residual, Inspecting and Maintaining Pumps, Safety, Sewage Lagoon and Wetland Treatment Processes, Waste Disposal Options, Operations and Maintenance Procedures, Record Keeping and Water License Requirements. This course is designed to assist Water Plant Operator with the operation and maintenance of small water treatment systems. It may also be useful to help prepare for writing the Small Water Systems Certification Exam (a mark of 70% must be achieved) on February 7, 2025 in the afternoon.
